Hey, Spinners!
It’s been a crazy few days since our launch. After moving out of our comfort zone to try something fun and different, we hoped our ZeroHour team would embrace it, and you have! Thank you so much for your pledge.
Over the weekend, we also received a shout out from NowThis Future! This is the most exposure we’ve ever received on Facebook, and certainly the most likes, shares, and comments for a single post. Thanks to NowThis for sharing our vision of REBEL with their followers. We are humbled to have such awesome support and look forward to spinning through another 25 days of pledges.
IMPROVEMENTS & UPGRADES
With more exposure and more backers comes the opportunity for more improvements and upgrades! After careful discussion and research, we are planning the following upgrades to the REBEL spinner at no additional cost to backers:
1. Upgrade the current 608 bearings to premium R188 sized bearings. The smaller bearing has less friction resistance and center mass, which improves spin time, spin smoothness, and allows the use of R188 buttons created by other makers in the spinner community.
2. The smaller diameter of the R188 bearings will reduce the overall length and width of our spinner body by approx. 4 millimeters. Our current design is comfortable for adults, but children and those with smaller hands will now be able to spin more effectively. More users get in on the fun!
3. We will round-off the edges to give REBEL a more appealing and ergonomic feel. This will improve the spinning experience and the “flick” move in particular as each flick will distribute more force to the body vs. the edges. This will not change the overall look/design.
4. The LED click lights will have a 22mm outer diameter (the same size as a standard 608 bearing), giving you even more flexibility in your spinning options. Users can more easily insert our LED click lights into other spinners, or pop out the lights and insert weights in their place. We will possibly develop and offer our own weights as a low cost add-on/stretch goal accessory.
These small but critical changes will push REBEL forward as the smoothest and most versatile LED spinner we can give you. We are also thinking about stretch goal rewards and hope to make an announcement soon.
